Education
I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and chemistry. During my education towards medical school I have taken courses in microbiology, biochemisty, chemistry, genetics, philosphy, biology, ethics, logic, psychobiology and math up to one year of calculus
Experience
I have been tutoring students privately for 4 years while I attended Cal State Long Beach as a pre-medical student. I have tutored students ranging from kindergarten to university students.My main focus in tutoring has been math, english and languange arts. Although, I have also tutored in the sciences, history, AP classes, study skills and philosphy as well. I have used the skills, knowledge and experience I have acquired through my scientific education and work experience to educate students of different ages and grades. I am passionately committed to student development by promoting a positive and productive learning environment. I provide additional support to students in problem solving skills and prepare lesson and practice quizzes to help students prepare for their courses. I have helped many students prepare for exams, quizzes and assisted in their homework/classwork. I strive to help students develop their academic confidence and self-sufficiency by finding their specific learning needs and tailoring my teaching approach to spefically meet their individual needs. I'm also extremely patient with all my students because I know that students learn at different levels and in different ways. I am bilingual, in english/spanish.
